The Fall of Itch.io
A downloadable soundtrack
This is my submission to Weekly Note Composing Jam #5.
In an (ostensibly fictional) alternate reality, itch.io made us a presentation outlining their plans for the fall-- ...uh, I mean, the future of itch.io!
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Absolutely NONE of the content in this submission was actually produced by AI. The references to AI generated content are fictional. The "AI sound" implemented here is a combination of automated reverb, pitch shifting, and a bin scrambler.

Hello, fellow devs! Thanks for tuning into our presentation. We're so excited to tell you about the future of itch.io!First, we are happy to announce our partnership with Udio! Tired of spending extra development resources on music for your games? Now, our engine will automatically score your games with AI generated music! Like this!
This is great!
Do your older games already have music? Worry not! You can manually disable this feature for games published before the Udio integration update.*
Before we go, we also have some news about game jams. Our Modern Analytic Aggregation and Summary System [aka MA ASS, patent pending] has revealed that very few participants really enjoy the game jams. We've decided that it is for the best to retire this functionality.
For the jam fans that ARE out there, we hear you! We are working closely with the devs at Discord to bring back a version of game jams for Discord Nitro subscribers. We hope to share more info on this in the Summer of 2026.
Thank you for being an itch dev! We can't wait to see what you make next!
*AI music scoring cannot be disabled for games published after the Udio integration update.
